BIOSTIMULANTS, THE KEY FOR MODERN AGRICULTURE

For years, the European Union has been leading a shift towards more sustainable agriculture that has transformed its conception. The change of conventional tools that were once considered indispensable has compelled the entire sector to adapt to new needs and management strategies. To this issue, we must add the social environmental awareness, which is firmly established and holds significant importance in Western culture.

All of this creates a new paradigm, of which Servalesa has been aware since its inception. That’s why we are pioneers in proposing new cultivation strategies and practices that meet the sector’s and market’s new demands. Today, we can affirm that Spain is taking a step further compared to other countries that are still envisioning agriculture of the future. Because how we believe, the agriculture of the future is already the agriculture of the present.

AGRICULTURE OF THE PRESENT: WHAT, HOW AND FOR WHOM?

The agriculture of the present is the transformation and consolidation of agriculture based on science and technology with a sustainable focus that consider the environment, the conservation of natural resources, biodiversity, and, of course, human health.

For the development of present-day agriculture, as previously mentioned, the use of science and technology is essential and is a fundamental part of its reason to be. It involves thinking about comprehensive crop management models in which new technologies make it possible to address the challenges that arise.

Present-day agriculture is aimed at an increasingly demanding consumer: one who is environmentally conscious, sensitive to reducing environmental impact, concerned about knowing the origins of the food they consume and how it has been produced. In addition, a consumer who advocates for the sustainability of development processes and rewards it by adding additional value to products that have adhered to these principles. This value is translated into intangible positioning and reputation standard, as well as tangible factors, as they are willing to pay more to acquire these products.

SERVALESA, PIONEERS IN BIOSTIMULANTS AND BIOSOLUTIONS

In Servalesa, decades ago, aware of the change that agriculture needed, we bet on science and technology to create solutions to the needs of today’s agriculture. This has allowed us to contribute to the arrival of the agriculture of the future with the development of economically viable biosolutions that allow to increase production and quality from a sustainable point of view, especially biostimulants, our great differentiation.

Moreover, to create biosolutions and the most competitive biostimulants on the market, we base our development on understanding and studying nature, its balance and the needs of the farmer. A knowledge that we put at the service of research to develop the most advanced technology for different crop management strategies.

To this end, we base our I+D on an Integral Biosolutions Model (I.B.M.) where we determine the different areas of study and subsequently develop new active components and formulations.

BIOSTIMULANTS, THE KEY FOR THE AGRICULTURE OF THE PRESENT

A biostimulant is designed to be applied on plants, seeds or roots in order to stimulate their natural biological processes. They can be a substance, a mixture of substances or microorganisms and contribute to solve different imbalances that can be generated during the crop cycle.

Biostimulants have a place in different crop management strategies and can be effective in:

-Increase crop tolerance to abiotic stress.

-Facilitate the use, assimilation and translocation of nutrients.

– Upgrade fruit quality parameters: pigmentation, sugar content, size, etc.

-Increase the efficiency of plant metabolism, inducing and/or eliciting key metabolic systems.

-Improve soil fertility and microbiota through the use of microorganisms.

For all these reasons, biostimulants contribute to higher yields and crop quality. These were great challenges for agriculture, which was looking for greater efficiency and effectiveness, and this is achieved with biostimulants.

At Servalesa we have more than 45 biostimulants in our catalog divided into three unique ranges in the market. If you want to discover all about the 3 ranges of Servalesa biostimulants, you can read the following post by clicking here
